Hi everyone! Audrey here today and I'm going to show you how I color hair with Copics, just in case you are interested.  I usually look at my image and decide what color hair do I want this image to have?  Then I choose 3-4 colors depending on the hair length - sometimes I use 5 or 6, but that is only usually with really long hair.

So for this image of Charlotte at Paper Ship from MILKCOFFEE SHOP and I have decided she is going to have blondish/brown hair and I have chosen Copics E 50, 53, 55 and 57.

First I decide where I am going to have my light source coming in.  I usually choose the right side, probably because I'm right handed.:)  I put down my lightest color first and I leave a decent amount of white space to show where my light source comes in.  I always color out from the top and up from the bottom in the direction of the hair in both cases.

Next I go over most of the same are with the second color (a little darker)

And then, you guessed it, I use my third color next.  I try to keep a very light touch on the marker so that it looks more like hair strands than blobs of color.

Finally I add my darkest color to the very bottoms and also the areas furthest from my light source.

Then I go back through and darken things up by using my 3rd marker (E55 in this case)

And the second (E53)

And then first color where I go back over and connect the areas, but still keeping the light source in mind I leave a very light area there.

Last but not least, I go in and add some darker lines on the pre-drawn lines and also on where I think areas would be the darkest.

I hope you have found this helpful:)

A fab tute isn't it? :) And as usual, we have a freebie for you to color! A matching digi for this month theme, Halloween! Hope you girls like it ;)
Have a blessed day everyone! Hope you enjoy our challenge this month!

Skin Coloring Tutorial by LYNDSEY

Hi girls,
Here is my tutorial for the next colour challenge, I decided to show how I colour my skin hope there's not too many pictures.
I mainly use the colours Coral, Dusky Pink, Blush & Sunkissed Pink for my skin tones
Face - Colour the areas where you would think would be the darkest using Coral, bring the colour in slightly where you think the cheeks would be.

Go over the top of the Coral with Dusky Pink bringing the colour slightly further into the image.

Go over the whole face and blend using Blush.

Add Sunkissed Pink onto the cheeks to add a bit more definition.

Arms - Add coral to the areas you think would be in the shade.

Go over the Coral using Dusky Pink, bringing the colour further into the image.

Blend and fill in gaps with Blush.

Legs - Use Coral in the areas where shade would be.

Go over the Coral with Dusky Pink, bringing the colour further into the image.

Fill in any gaps and blend with Blush.

Hope that helps! If you have any questions just let me know :)

~Coloring Tutorial~

It's Mary J here and I've put together a quick tute together to show you how to colour folds in clothing, so let's get to it!  I've used Lisbeth Walks In The Rain as she's such a pleasure to colour in and the first thing I do is choose the colours I'm going to use - RV00, RV10 and RV02.  That is in order of lightest to darkest (yes, RV10 is lighter than RV02!).

Okay, so first I cover the dress all over in the light shade I've chosen, RV00.  I like to do the base colour first as it gives me a feel of the flow of the dress as I colour it in (click on the photos for a larger view)...

I then use the darkest shade, RV02, and add to the darkest shaded areas of the dress...

I then use the mid-shade, RV10, and lightly blend the edges of the darkest areas into the lighter areas with light feathery strokes...

And lastly, I go over the whole dress with the lightest colour, RV00, to soften all the edges...

Et voila!  I hope you found that useful - feel free to leave a comment with any questions and I'll get back to you!
